What finally got me writing children’s books was when my first born was expecting her first born,
and I attempted to design my own card for her baby shower. Since it was in verse, it took me a
while to get around to what I wanted to say and soon it became what I referred to as my first
‘novelette’.

I decided to type up the pages and place them in a small photo album. A Gathering At The
Brook was born.

Eighteen months later God blessed this daughter with a son, so I wrote
A Little Stubborn.  Fours years after that she had a little girl, spurring
me to write, What’s New at the Zoo? Now my copies of these books
(and a lot of others) sit on my shelf, waiting for me to find time to
search out the right publisher.

Someday. For now I will rock babies.
Apparently my daughter didn’t know what caused
pregnancies and started batting the babies out. Hence: The
Wind Blew a Secret, and In There, Out There, came to be.
Daughter number two finally announced that she was adding to the menagerie, so I wrote One Tale Between Two
Dogs. Tragically, their baby was stillborn and went to live with God instead. After months of untold grieving, I wrote A
Little Bit of Heaven to help me deal with the loss. I made copies for the family and they, too, started to heal. Soon
friends, strangers and even the local hospital sought me out for copies. I finally took the story to Staples for printing

I guess I’ve always been a writer. When I was young I wrote anecdotes and silly poems to amuse my father, then
graduated to entertaining the community with columns in the local paper, the church newsletter, and several
magazines.
